Manchester Day Parade

A collaborative projects with Salford University’s Costume Design students, wherein both courses were split into groups of four or five and given a theme for a parade float for Manchester’s Day Parade.

Our theme was Power and Energy Industry, and we represented Manchester’s major historical influence over the industrial revolution, but also chose to celebrate it’s more modern innovations in clean energy. The flow of the float, as represented by the production of material, another industry Manchester is known for, through the stages of energy production – from coal and oil generators to wind and solar farms.
